Colson Kelly, also known as Machine Gun Kelly is best known for the unique way he raps. Baker was born 22 April 1990, in Houston Texas U.S. into an extended family of English Scottish and German descent. His parents were missionaries. As a child the Bakers traveled extensively with them. James Colson Baker suffered from depression and was unemployed, as Sonia Alane abandoned them at the age of nine. He is known for fusing modern and alternative hip-hop with rock music into his songs. Baker released four mixtapes prior to signing to Bad Boy Records between 2007-2010. Delivering lyrics with the speed of a train, this Cleveland rapper saw a meteoric growth in the second half of 2011, when Baker made the switch from releasing self-released mixtapes, to signing with well-known label. The following years saw every single album of his charted at number 10.
