Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by singing and playing at the church in town. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The band was hired as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
